History

Liz joined Pannone in 2006 and is Head of the Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning team. She advises on all aspects of inheritance tax, wills and trust law. In addition, she works with individuals wishing to prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney and with parents of children with special needs requiring specialist advice in relation to estate planning.
She acts for individuals, entrepreneurs and business owners, often for several generations of the same family. Liz has a specialist interest in trust law and in succession planning for businesses.
She gives regular seminars to support groups for families and to other private client solicitors in the North West. Liz has appeared on local radio to discuss wills and to answer queries for listeners.
Liz is a member of the highly regarded Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners. She has recently completed a post-graduate diploma in Notarial Practice at the University of Cambridge.
Liz sits on the Trustee Board of Stockport Citizens Advice Bureau and is a member of the firm’s Pro-Bono committee.
Notable matters include:
- advising on trust issues in a matrimonial matter. The couple had set up a trust structure for tax planning purposes which needed to be unravelled as a result of the divorce proceedings
- administering the estate of a well-known television personality whose affairs were complicated by a claim brought against the estate by his estranged wife
- acting on a pro-bono basis to establish a memorial appeal fund following the tragic killing of a local, young family
- acting for a family wishing to change the trusteeship of their off-shore trusts and to bring the administration of the trusts to UK.
