History

Lindsay is Head of International Property at Pannone, leading a multilingual team, specialising in principally residential property and succession related matters in France and Spain. She has over 22 years’ experience in this field assisting individuals and groups and advising and liaising with a myriad of professionals in UK and overseas jurisdictions.
She advises clients on documentation, how to structure their property ownership, the consequences and impact of foreign inheritance laws for UK and Irish residents and ex pats resident in France and Spain.
Providing guidance to a broad spectrum of clients on both the legal and practical level, finding sensible, cost effective and viable solutions to a wide variety of problems is of paramount importance to Lindsay. Her work includes drafting and/or advising on French and Spanish documents, powers of attorney, notarisation and legalisation, affidavits re UK and/or French and Spanish law, matrimonial contracts, civil partnership pacts (PACS), Wills and Codicils, tax planning and fiscal representation advice, foreigners' national ID numbers (NIE), and advising on conflicts of law involving overseas property ownership by UK minors, amongst others.
Lindsay also assists with setting up certain types of French companies for property ownership and related businesses, transferring equity between spouses and civil partners on relationship break ups and divorce, as well as advising on and dealing with complex cross-border estates.
Best career moment: Spotting an opportunity and gap in the market 22 years ago prior to the overseas property boom and building a niche practice team, which still remains one of only a select group of solicitors offering such a service in the UK. Assisting and protecting clients (particularly the vulnerable and elderly) who have been misled and misinformed and extracting them from potentially disastrous situations abroad can be very rewarding.
Lindsay has written A Beginners Guide to Purchasing Property in France and is a regular columnist in Overseas Property Professional magazine and contributor to a variety of publications and presents seminars to clients and professionals on overseas property issues.
She is a member of the firm’s International Practice Group and has been closely involved with Pannone Law Group (PLG) since its inception and creation in 1988.
