In this day and age when Customer Service should be very important the opposite is often true. It is a great relief to actually find a company that takes customer service and their responsibilities seriously.
Michael’s performance did not waver at all throughout the entire period of my claim (Approximately 12 months). No doubt Michael has many cases to deal with but always gave the impression that I was his only customer, never once needing to be reminded or prompted on the details of the case. At the risk of sounding melodramatic Michael could well have been a passenger on my motorcycle during the accident. Such was his empathy and drive to win the case in my favour.
On account of their choice of solicitor (i.e. Pannone) I will be using the same insurance company to insure my motorcycle next year, even if I have to pay a little more.

On 6th August 2003 I was hit by a car while walking home from a meal out with friends. The incident was witnessed by my husband and the friend.
The meal was to say good luck to my friend, who was due to take a new job in Greece but instead she had to witness me getting hit by a drunk driver with no insurance!!
I was hospitalised for 8 months and the Doctors didn’t hold out much hope for me as the survival rate for this type of accident is 1%. I was in a Coma for 3 weeks and I suffered a fractured skull, a punctured lung, fractured 3 bones in my spine, a broken fibula and tibia in my right leg and what is medically termed as a de-gloving to my right arm.
Pannone were then asked by my husband if they could handle the case for me, as I was unable to manage my own affairs and Catherine Leech was appointed.
Catherine came to visit me in hospital and always kept my husband informed. Since my discharge she kept both of us up to date with all the details of how the case was progressing.
Once I was competent to manage my affairs again, I have to say I have been most impressed with the proficiency and capability the team have shown in dealing with all aspects and very pleased with my husband for choosing them.
Whenever I have needed to get in touch with Pannone there has always been a friendly voice at the end of the phone to help and advise me.
They have been able to answer whatever question I have raised and have always gone out of their way to accommodate my needs. I was made to feel involved in the whole case without being overwhelmed by the legal process.

But as I begin to think about the time after my accident, I start to struggle to find a language that matches the service and friendship we experienced with Pannone, at a time in our life that seemed to us filled with difficulty. It kind of feels like describing the positive aspects of nature! It’s just impossible, but I’m still compelled to try, so in the spirit of Pannone LLP and dreams coming true I’ll say this:

In June 2001 a car driver pulled out in front of me while I was riding my motorbike and I crashed into the side of his car. I broke my spine and I was left paralysed from the mid chest down (T5 level). To make matters worse the driver of the car ran from the scene of the accident but fortunately was caught quite soon after. It turned out that the eighteen year old had never even taken a driving test and therefore had no driving licence and more importantly, NO INSURANCE. This meant that I would have to make an insurance claim against the Motor Insurance Bureau (or MIB). This made my claim far more complicated than claiming against an insured driver. A friend of mine is a manager at a very large insurance company. I asked him to find out which firm of solicitors they would least like to have to fight a legal battle with. I followed his advice and I turned to Pannone LLP for help in making an insurance claim. I met Cathy Leech and with her team she secured me a lump sum settlement, which was more than I was expecting. The amount I received was more than ten times the amount a firm of solicitors, who do not specialise in spinal injuries claims, told me I could expect to receive.
My life is now very different to what it would have been, had I received less or even no compensation. Everyone at Pannone LLP is polite and very helpful. Making my claim was made very straightforward, everything was presented in a manner that was very easy to understand and no baffling legal terms where used.
As part of my claim I received two interim payments. Staff from other departments, within Pannone LLP, were able to give advice and set up trust funds that meant I did not lose any of my means tested benefits. I also used Pannone LLP to purchase a bungalow with part of the interim payments I received. The fact that Pannone is a large law firm means that they have in-house expert knowledge over a wide area, which proved very useful.
I was a company director at the time of my accident and I cannot find anything negative to say about the service with which I was provided. Similarly I cannot see any way in which their service can be improved, even though I know Pannone LLP are always looking to improve. Cathy always seemed to be available to take a phone call from me but if she was not, she returned my call as soon as she could even when she was out of the office. She is not one of these people who hide behind a secretary who says she is “on a call or out the office etc”. The response to a phone call or e-mail was always immediate.
I would strongly recommend Pannone LLP to anyone who needs to make a personal injury claim, especially if you have suffered a spinal cord injury.
