What is pleural plaques?
Pleural plaques are areas of scarring on the pleura, which is the membrane surrounding the lungs and lining the inside of the rib cage. The scarring is caused by asbestos fibres which lodge into the Pleura. Usually, Pleural Plaques does not cause any respiratory disability.

Unfortunately in 2007 the Supreme Court ruled that Pleural Plaques is no longer a compensatable injury in England and Wales.
