Occupational Asthma Compensation Claim Solicitors

What is Occupational Asthma?
How do I know if I can make a claim for Occupational Asthma?
How should I go about making a claim for my asthma?

What is Occupational Asthma?
Occupational asthma is a chest disease that has been brought on or aggravated through the breathing of substances, agents, chemicals or dust at work. Symptoms of occupational asthma include shortness of breath, a tight chest, coughing or wheezing.

There are over 200 substances that are known irritants linked to aggravating asthma attacks. These include latex, wood dust, flour and grain dust, animal and insect dust as well as certain chemicals in spray paint, glue, adhesive and soldering materials.

Prolonged or repeated exposure to such chemicals at work can result in chronic asthma. When asthma becomes chronic, symptoms increase in severity and are less likely to be helped or reversed even with strong asthmatic medication or removal from the workplace environment.

How do I know if I can make a claim for my Asthma?
If your asthma has developed or symptoms of existing asthma have worsened following exposure to chemicals, dust or other substances in the workplace, you may be able to make a claim for compensation.

How should I go about making a claim for my asthma?
If you have recently contracted asthma after coming into contact with chemicals or substances at work or if you are already an asthma sufferer whose symptoms have been aggravated by exposure to substances in the workplace, you should seek both medical and legal advice as soon as possible.
