Inquest SolicitorsIn certain circumstances when an unexpected death occurs a Coroner is required to hold an inquest. This is an independent investigation held by the Coroner to determine the cause of a death. We represent families at inquests into deaths following medical treatment and can also try to ensure that an inquest is held if the family wish that to happen. Inquests can often be daunting for families, partly because they are extremely upset over the death of a loved one but also because of uncertainty about the procedures and what to expect. We are able to help families through the process. The Inquest gives a good opportunity to put questions to doctors or nurses involved in medical treatment prior to a death. We will obtain the relevant medical records and often obtain independent medical evidence concerning the likely cause of death. We will advise you whether a claim is likely to be successful. Read our 'Inquests Guide' and 'Bereavement Guide'. Have you had a similar experience? Let us assess your compensation claim. See relevant items on our Clinical Negligence blog.
