International disputes

The Commercial Litigation team at Pannone LLP regularly advise international (EU and non-EU) and UK clients on disputes involving international claims in the courts and arbitral tribunals of England and Wales, the UK, Europe and worldwide. Where necessary we utilise our network of international lawyers in over twenty countries through the Pannone Law Group*.

Our international commercial litigation and dispute resolution work involves all aspects of jurisdiction and choice of law, including pre-action issues such as:

  • Advising which courts to sue in.
  • Which systems of law apply.
  • The tactical decisions that can make all the difference to the eventual outcome of the dispute; and.

Our experience

Our recent experience includes:

  • Acting for a commercial agent in relation to the termination of his agency by the American principal, where the agency covered Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa.
  • Acting for an Italian chemical supplier in relation to the loss of cargo in the Port of Algiers, which involved emergency action through our Algerian co-respondent.
  • Acting for a multi-national corporation in relation to the termination of its relationship with its distributor in East Africa.
  • Acting for a multi-national corporation in an arbitration concerning the supply and distribution network in the Bahamas.
