Soldier injured in quad bike accident in Iraq

Our client sustained serious head injuries and an eye injury in a quad bike accident during a unit quad biking competition whilst on active service in Iraq. Our client required care and support from friends and family and was unable to resume her military career. Damages agreed by Ministry of Defence: £500,000.

Soldier with post traumatic stress disorder arising from military service in Northern Ireland

Our client, Malcolm New, received £620,000 damages from the Ministry of Defence in respect of their failure to diagnose and treat his post traumatic stress disorder. This was the first ever award of damages to a soldier for this condition. Malcolm served five tours of duty in Northern Ireland between 1978 and 1994, during which he witnessed at first hand the deaths of colleagues, bombings, shootings and large scale rioting. He was awarded the British Empire Medal in 1990 for his outstanding military service.

Soldier with post traumatic stress disorder arising from military service in Kosovo

Our client suffered post traumatic stress disorder as a result of his combat experiences in Kosovo and Bosnia. We argued that the army doctors had failed to diagnose and treat the condition despite it being very obvious that our client was experiencing serious problems. Compensation agreed by Ministry of Defence: £265,000.

Soldier injured by overturning Land Rover whilst on active service in Iraq

We acted on behalf of a soldier who sustained personal injuries in an accident whilst on active service in Iraq. He made a full recovery, but due to loss of his spleen he will require life long antibiotic therapy together with repeat vaccination injections.  Compensation agreed by Ministry of Defence: £47,000.

Guardsman injured in army truck crash in Kenya

We acted on behalf of a young solider injured as a result of a road traffic accident while on a training exercise in Kenya. Liability for the accident was admitted by Ministry of Defence. Compensation agreed by Ministry of Defence: £35,000.

RAF Policeman with back injury
