You can apply for the Grant in person. For information about the process involved, please contact your local Probate Registry.
Contact details for the probate registries are available here.
If you are instructing solicitors to assist in obtaining the Grant, they will prepare an Oath that you will be sworn to. The Oath is submitted to the Probate Registry, together with the original will (if there is one) and the requisite Inland Revenue form.
Once a Grant has been issued, the personal representatives can realise the estate assets, discharge the liabilities and distribute the estate.
We are happy to assist with as much or as little of the work involved in administering the estate as you would like. Unlike many organisations, our charges are not based on a percentage of the value of the estate. We only charge on a time-spent basis for the work we actually do and will give a cost estimate before undertaking any work on your behalf.
