Søren is Head of the International Practice Group and a Consultant in the Commercial team. He acts in a co-ordinating role, bringing together the different legal disciplines required within the firm when executing:

• multi-jurisdictional assignments
• large scale projects
• commercial contracts

Clients range from global and multinational corporates to SME’s and owner managed businesses.

Over his long career Søren has gained a wealth of experience acting for both UK and foreign jurisdiction parents with business interests in the UK, Europe and elsewhere including:

• strategic alliances, joint ventures and collaboration agreements
• foreign direct inward and outward investment projects
• due diligence investigations and reports
• route to market agreements
• international commercial contracts
• parent company support services within the UK and Europe

Søren has worked closely as trusted adviser with clients in a wide range of industries including engineering, electricals and electronics, plastic moulding and extrusion, motive power and power storage and defence. He was actively involved in the privatisation of the electricity industry working on many large projects leading to newly established power generating companies connecting to the National Grid. Søren has also worked closely with University/Industry collaborative joint venture projects especially in the fields of robotics, sodium sulphur batteries and electric powertrain systems.

More recently Søren has had particular involvement in the downstream hydrocarbon fuel and paints and chemical industries.

Søren is one of the firm’s key liaisons for Pannone Law Group EEIG which has member firms in 21 countries.

Best career moment: Negotiating the sale of seven companies in six countries for US$100m in a contract containing no more than 26 A4 pages.

Notable transactions include:

• joint lead partner on Chevron’s disposal of 118 filling stations and convenience stores to Somerfield plc
• represented Chevron in the sale of its commercial, industrial and home heating oil distribution business to GB Oils Limited, a subsidiary of Dcc plc

Søren grew up and was schooled in Denmark and Sweden, returning to the UK at the age of 15.  Søren qualified as a solicitor in 1978, became a partner in 1983 and Head of Corporate from 1988 until 2003. Søren became a consultant in 2011.

Søren is a member of the Council of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the United Kingdom, China Britain Business Council and a member of the International Bar Association.  He is also Consul of Sweden in Manchester and speaks Danish, Swedish and some French.
