Amy is a Partner in the IP, IT and E-Commerce team. She advises on the ownership, protection and exploitation of intellectual property. Her expertise includes advising clients on intellectual property acquisitions and disposals, branding and advertising, and drafting IP and technology related agreements such as licence agreements, IT and software agreements and R&D and collaboration agreements. She also advises on compliance with the Data Protection Act and e-commerce legislation.
Amy advises clients across a number of sectors, including IT, biotechnology and franchising and has a particular specialism in the creative, digital and media sector. Her expertise includes advising on the acquisition of rights, licence agreements, sponsorship agreements and merchandising agreements. She also advises on a range of “new media” issues, such as online radio and user generated content websites.
In 2009, Amy was appointed to the Board of Salford City Radio to provide legal and professional advice in connection with intellectual property and media related issues.
Best career moment: Advising a Manchester based production company in connection with its contracts with Channel 4 in relation to the remake of the iconic music show, “The Tube”, as a radio show and being able to watch some of the shows being filmed and seeing it all come together.
Amy’s work has included:

- acting for British Fashion Council in connection with a sponsorship agreement for London Fashion Week
- advising a company in respect of a complex agreement to acquire the IP rights (including trade marks and patents in approximately 35 countries) relating to a pharmaceutical product
- advising a multimedia company in connection with a licence agreement with the owners of an internationally renowned music brand to use the brand in connection with the launch of a digital radio station
- acting for a TV presenter in connection with her Presenter’s Agreement with QVC
Amy qualified as a solicitor in 2006.
