Britain is apparently a nation of animal lovers and we at Pannone are no exception. Always open to new innovative ideas, we couldn’t help but be drawn to 2 heart-warming stories which have made the news this week.

On Monday we heard the story of ‘Chris’ the piglet who was born without the use of his hind legs, whose dedicated owner has created a makeshift wheelchair to allow him to mobilise around the house.

Then on Thursday we received the news that it is not just piglets who can benefit from specially adapted equipment, but also apparently goldfish. Videos have been released on the internet showing a fish who has trouble maintaining buoyancy. To get round this, its clever owner has created an underwater wheelchair to keep him at the bottom of his tank.  

Thanks to the genius of their owners and specialist equipment, both animals now seem to be enjoying a whole new lease of life and have become internet stars in the process. The stories serve to remind us that advances in technology can provide full independence and an excellent quality of life after injury.
