Pannone’s specialist child abuse team are currently dealing with a report of child abuse against St Ambrose RC College in Hale Barns.

A police investigation of the school is currently ensuing and has already resulted in one arrest.

Greater Manchester Police are investigating sexual abuse of pupils committed by teachers between the early 1960s and early 1980s. A former teacher of St Ambrose has been arrested on suspicion of an indecent assault of a 17 year old pupil in the early 1980’s and possession of indecent images and has been bailed pending further enquiries. The man was a teacher at St Ambrose and is now a member of the clergy. The Diocese of Shrewsbury has also confirmed that a complaint has been made concerning a member of the clergy.

Greater Manchester Police have also received reports of alleged incidents of historical sexual abuse involving of pupils spanning a 30 year period. Det Ins Jed Pidd, from Trafford's Public Protection Investigation Unit, has said the police are taking the reports of sexual abuse extremely seriously and encourage anyone who may have information to contact local officers in Trafford.

At Pannone we deal with many historic abuse cases. Many people think that it is not possible to pursue a claim many years after the abuse or even once the alleged perpetrator is dead but a compensation claim may still be possible. Pannone’s specialist abuse team would like to hear from anyone affected by this story or other similar abuse. Any communications will be treated in the strictest confidence.  For free confidential advice contact us today on 0800 0384 384.
