Where an individual has suffered from sexual or physical assault as a child or an adult and whether this was a single assault or abuse over a period of time, it may be possible to sue for abuse and claim compensation.

Abuse in residential care or established organisation
If the assault or abuse occurred in residential care or within a particular establishment or organisation then the claim will usually be brought against the local authority or body responsible for the management of the establishment. In some cases, however, it may be possible to bring a claim directly against the individual perpetrator of the assault or abuse

Information usually gathered to support abuse claim
Apart from the information and evidence that will be gathered by your solicitor in support of your claim, medical evidence is necessary to confirm the nature and extent of the injuries that have been sustained. Usually the claim will be for psychiatric / psychological damage and we will arrange for an appropriately qualified psychiatrist or psychologist to be instructed on your behalf.
